Welcome to our Turkey travel blog, or as we like to call it, our little Turkish corner of the internet. We’re happy to have you here and can’t wait to share our love for this amazing country with you. 🙂
Our goal with this blog is simple – we want to make sure you have the best trip ever when you travel to Turkey!
Since you’re curious about the blog (and maybe even us!), grab a cup of çay (tea), enjoy some baklava, and let us tell you a little bit about our website, Let’s Travel to Türkiye!

ABOUT THE BLOG
This blog was officially launched on May 19, 2023, which isn’t a coincidence — May 19 is the (alleged) birthday of the first president of Türkiye, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and a national holiday. It would only be fitting to follow in his footsteps and have the same birthday, wouldn’t you agree? 🙂
In fact, you can see our first post, which was coincidentally written on the same day this blog was launched!
With that fun fact, let’s talk about this blog…
We originally created this blog with 3 big goals in mind:
1 – So you can enjoy a stress-free vacation
We know how stressful it can be to plan a trip to a new place, especially when there are so many cool things to see and do. In fact, the first time we visited Turkiye (years before we moved here!), we had so many questions… What should we do in Turkey? Where do we change money? How’s the transportation?
Don’t worry, we’ve got your back! We’re here to help you plan a stress-free vacation so you can focus on having fun and making unforgettable memories.
2- So you can discover the other side of Turkiye
Yes, Turkiye has Istanbul and Cappadocia and İzmir and Antalya, but there are hundreds — if not thousands — of other amazing places that deserve a few days on your itinerary!
For example, have you heard of the beautiful bougainvillea-lined streets of Alaçatı? Or the well-preserved Ottoman houses of Amasya or Safranbolu? Or maybe even the ‘Old Istanbul’ neighborhood of Kuzguncuk?
That’s why we’re excited to show you the other side of Turkiye – the hidden gems that will make your trip truly unforgettable. From the Black Sea region to Istanbul, the Mediterranean, and more, we’ve got all the insider tips and tricks to help you explore the road less traveled.
3 – So you can experience Turkiye like a local!
Finally, we believe that the best way to experience Turkiye is to dive into the local culture and live like a local. Trust us, Turkiye is all about hospitality and the locals are some of the warmest and most hospitable people you’ll ever meet.
We want to help you experience Türkiye like a local, from the food to the traditions, architecture, culture, and everything in between. Get ready to have the adventure of a lifetime with Let’s Travel to Türkiye!
ABOUT US
Our story in a nutshell
Our story began in 2020, when we decided to take an epic month-long trip to Turkey and visit Istanbul, Ankara, the Black Sea, and the Mediterranean Coast… but as you can probably guess, a certain unprecedented event caught up with us and we were forced to stay in Antalya for a few months. 😅
Although we’ve traveled to Turkey many times before, this was the first time where we actually “lived like a local” (cliche, we know) — and we fell in love with Turkiye as if it were our first trip! After the pandemic ended, we went back home, finished our lease, bought an apartment in Istanbul, and we’ve been here ever since. 🙂
Our travel style
We know what it’s like to travel to a country for the first time: the excitement, the confusion, the omg this is really happening! — which is partially why we started this blog. We wanted to offer interesting, accessible, and easy-to-understand travel guides that take the guesswork and confusion out of planning your trip to Türkiye.
That being said, our goal for this site is to have a healthy balance of popular destinations (like Istanbul, Antalya, Pamukkale, Izmir, etc) along with off-the-beaten-path places like the Black Sea coast, Southeast Turkey, and those charming little towns and villages that make Turkiye Türkiye.
We love to travel by public transportation (and sometimes by rental car if we’re planning an especially epic trip!) and are really interested in trying delicious food, connecting with locals, and savoring each region’s unique culture.
We’re especially experts in finding unique places and interesting things, and when we’re not traveling around the country, you’ll find us in a cafe or petting cats on the streets of Istanbul.
There are two of us running this site, but to make it easier, you can call us “Kedi” (cat in Turkish) 😺
